I am all for multi-functional clothes. I figured if I was going to
create something, it might as well serve more than 1 use. That's why I
have a fascination for making clothes reversible.
Way before the reversible dress in a previous blog was created, I already conceptualized and created it's older sister - the reversible tulip wrap skirt.
I was watching a Mila Kunis movie one afternoon and I loved the skirt she wore in a scene. It led me to google skirts, pencil skirts then tulip skirts...
They looked pretty doable so right after work, I went straight to the
mall. I bought my ever reliable stretch fabric in 2 colors - black and
grey, black elastic and some hooks and eyes. Worked on it the minute I
got home.
This is a breakdown of the skirt construction.
I wanted to use a thicker elastic but that's not very easy to find in my place.
I used 2 eyes on each side so I can adjust the waist of the skirt. You can probably use sturdier hooks or buttons if you don't like the sight of the eyes. I, for one, don't really like them but I couldn't think of anything else to use for now. If you have other suggestions, I would love to hear them out.
